This annual exhibition aims to showcase some of the finest works of visual art by MCC students. 奖 are given to those works demonstrating exceptional merit, as selected by the faculty jury.

• 资格

  Submission of work is open to any MCC student enrolled in credit art courses during the spring term. Work completed during the fall term may be submitted as long as the student is enrolled in the spring term. 条目 must be related to course projects completed at MCC or as part of an independent study overseen by MCC instructors. Works previously submitted to MCC Student Art Exhibits are not eligible.

• 条目

  学生 may enter one or two pieces online 和 drop the work off in the Art Office, A144, 在指定日期. 请在递交作品前填妥报名表.

  条目 do not have to be framed for judging; however, works on paper must be temporarily mounted to a rigid backing—including a cover sheet to protect the surface. 未完成的画作应留在画室. Selected works should not drastically increase dimensions if/when framed.

• 奖

  • 关于Ryan Long

    瑞安·朗是个有爱心的人, 热情的, 精力充沛的12岁男孩, when he was killed tragically in a flash flood in the Summer of 1993. He was a 7th grade student of Olsen Middle School in Woodstock 和 he was enrolled in the 社区 Education pottery classes at MCC.

    In his memory a memorial fund was established 和 the first award was given out in the Spring of 1994. The fund has now grown into two individual scholarships per year benefiting promising art students at MCC.

    This fund has been sustained through the generosity of many including the MCC pottery students, MCC陶艺讲师, 以及伊利诺伊州粘土工人协会的成员. 这些团体都贡献了自己的时间, 他们的陶器, 和 a percentage of the total money earned from the sales of 他们的陶器.

• 展览

  学生 whose work is selected 和 in need of framing or having other presentation issues should consult with their instructor regarding options for making their work ready for hanging in a professional manner. Framing is optional, though encouraged, depending on the suitability of each piece. If left unframed, work selected for the exhibit should have acrylic or glass cut to the correct size. 无框架作品也应该有泡沫芯，纸板等.裁剪成适合后背的尺寸.   学生 will be notified by email about the jurors’ selections, 和 a list of accepted entries will also be posted throughout the art department. 学生 will have one week to prepare their pieces for hanging (framing, etc.). 参见日历下的截止日期.

• 责任

  Every effort will be made to ensure proper care 和 h和ling of the artwork. However, MCC cannot assume responsibility for any damage before, during, or after the exhibition. Only works accepted into the exhibition will be insured while on display at MCC. Works need not be for sale; however, sales are encouraged. Works checked “For Sale” will be listed at the stated value; however, 保险最多只能赔偿200美元. Instructors should assist students in determining a reasonable value for their work.

  Work must be received during the specified times to be accepted. Please make arrangements with your instructors if you cannot bring your entries at the specified times.

  • 4月15 - 18日 – Pick up declined entries from the Art Office, A144, between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 每一天.
  • 4月22日星期一 – Due date for selected works to be framed or otherwise “ready for hanging” 和 returned to the Art Office, A144.
